The SAVe Receives Aeromedical Certification from the U.S. Military

Germantown, MD - AutoMedx, a manufacturer of pre-hospital ventilators, today announced that it has been notified of Airworthiness Release (AWR) from the U.S. Army's Medical Research and Materiel Command for the SAVe Simplified Automated Ventilator. The certification indicates that the SAVeTM is in compliance with the U.S. Army's medical device certification criteria and is now certified for use aboard MEDEVAC H-60 helicopters.

The U.S. Army's Aeromedical Research Laboratory does extensive aeromedical testing to determine if medical equipment functions properly in the aircraft environment. The evaluation includes electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI, EMC), environmental and human factors testing in the laboratory as well as in-flight assessments by engineers and medical personnel under a variety of flight conditions.

"The SAVe was designed to meet the specific needs of the military, and we are extremely pleased that it has been approved for use aboard MEDEVAC helicopters. This capability supports AutoMedx's commitment to the health of the warfighter from point of injury through CASEVAC," said James Evans, President & CEO of AutoMedx.

The SAVe is an efficient, safe, and cost effective alternative to bag-valve masks and pneumatic ventilators that provides the safety, ease of use and level of respiratory support required in the pre-hospital environment.
